On Monday, September 4th, representatives from the DeiC Interactive HPC consortium met for an all-day workshop at SDU.
Twice a year, the DeiC Interactive HPC consortium organizes a workshop, either to discuss specific topics that are useful for the operation of the service or for a more strategic workshop with a focus on the current status and future goals. For a collaboration that spans three universities (Aarhus University, Aalborg University and the University of Southern Denmark), meeting up regularly in person for an all-day workshop is a great opportunity to strengthen bonds, catch a cup of coffee together and exchange knowledge and ideas.
The overall theme for this workshop was a status after nearly three years since the launch of the service and a strategic discussion about the future vision. Topics included:
- A general overview of the service, including utilization of resources and user activity.
- Status and goals for outreach activities.
- GPU computing.
- New hardware.
- Preview of the new UCloud UI/interface.
- Process for app development.
And much more.
We had a very productive and inspiring day – there is plenty of work ahead of us, but one thing is for sure: we are happy to collaborate on providing the unique and successful DeiC Interactive HPC service to all researchers in Denmark.
