Reduced resources

John Renner Hansen stepped down as Chairman of the Board in late May 2025, and the DeiC Board has since been unable to make any financial decisions. This has affected the current ongoing contract negotiations for DeiC Interactive HPC and the result of the call for expressions of interest to provide the new General Purpose HPC service; a service intended to merge the previous DeiC Throughput HPC and DeiC Large Memory HPC services.

The current contract for DeiC Interactive HPC expires on 31st of December 2025 and the DeiC Throughput HPC contract expires 31st of March 2026. Work is underway to establish new agreements, but due to the delays, only LUMI resources are offered in the present call (source: DeiC).

What will happen at SDU?

While we await the new DeiC agreements, SDU is announcing a local call to distribute the SDU portion of LUMI resources for the spring period of 2026.

We will keep you posted on any developments regarding the new agreements here on our website and via our LinkedIn. If you have any immediate questions, please contact the service desk.
