At the ISC22 conference in Hamburg on the 30th of May 2022, the latest Top500 list of the world’s fastest supercomputers was released. LUMI was ranked 3rd, making it the fastest supercomputer in Europe!
SDU researchers can apply for LUMI resources, either through the SDU eScience Center or through DeiC via the national calls. Currently, 4 projects at SDU have been allocated resources on the LUMI supercomputer (read more here).
In addition to being ranked 3rd on the Top500 list, the LUMI supercomputer was also ranked 3rd on the new Green500 list which ranks supercomputers from the Top500 list in terms of energy efficiency. The GFlops/Watts ratio for LUMI is 51.6, making it one of the greenest supercomputers in the world.
