The SDU eScience Center is a leading center for research infrastructure such as supercomputing and cloud computing in Denmark. We provide Danish national supercomputing services and we’re involved in several prestigious, international projects. Now you have the chance to work with us!

Student jobs in our research support unit

About the role

As part of the research support unit, your main tasks will be to help researchers address questions related to our cloud computing platform, UCloud.

What we expect from you

We expect that you are currently a bachelor or master’s student with a strong background in computer science, data science, applied mathematics, physics or engineering. Candidates with good programming skills in Python and/or R will be preferred.

Working hours

We expect the positions to be 10-15 hours per week with highly flexible working hours to fit a student’s schedule, including exam periods.

Full time employee for our research support unit

About the role

You would become part of research support team, where tasks include:

  • providing specialist skills in parallel computing and data science.
  • porting existing codes to new platforms.
  • designing and developing new software from scratch.
  • set up and tune data analysis workflows.
  • assist researchers in all aspects of data management. 
  • develop and deliver tutorials and workshops.  

What we expect from you

We expect that you have a Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant field of science or engineering, a broad range of software skills and a strong understanding of research methodologies.

Full time systems administrator for our infrastructure team

About the role

You would become part of the SDU eScience Center’s infrastructure team, where your tasks will include:

  • full stack configuration of hardware, network, and software.
  • automatized deployment using Ansible.
  • configuration of virtualized and container-based environments.
  • operating and maintaining distributed storage systems.
  • configuration of Linux systems and common services.

What we expect from you

We expect that you have a Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant field of science or engineering, programming skills and a background in Linux systems.
