Scientific Computing on Clouds<\/h1>\n

Distributed computing infrastructures are evolving from the Grid paradigm that has traditionally supported HEP experiments, towards a Cloud model, more flexible from the resource provision point of view, but more challenging when it comes to support scientific work. In this presentation the challenges and opportunities of an European Federated Cloud of computing and storage resources will be presented, focusing on the system software and technologies required to support scientific applications. The presentation will also briefly address the state of the art of federated storage resources and data managing in highly distributed computing environments.<\/p>\n
