\u201cWe are delighted to announce that the EOSC-Nordic (European Open Science Cloud \u2013 Nordic) proposal has been awarded funding from the European Commission. NeIC (The Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration) will be the coordinator of the EOSC-Nordic project and also lead a Work Package on FAIR (https:\/\/www.go-fair.org\/fair-principles\/<\/a>) data. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n The SDUCloud solution provides a virtual research environment to cover researchers’ needs throughout the data life cycle by integrating storage, computing, data management, and publishing into one single platform solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Part of the e-infrastructure was developed in collaboration with Odense University Hospital, SDU Library, Aalborg University, Aalborg University Hospital, Aarhus University and the University of Bergen as part of the national project known as “National Science App Store<\/em><\/strong>“. The coordination between the countries, EOSC-Nordic (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, The Netherlands and Germany) will create new synergies and thereby achieving greater harmonization within politics and services in compliance with EOSCs standards and practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ABACUS2.0 supercomputer continues to be used for courses and workshops at universities in computational subjects such as, biophysics, quantum chemistry, parallel computing, computational physics, bioinformatics, computational genomics among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In December 2018, SDU also acquired a new high-performance data analysis system dedicated to research in precision medicine. The system is expected to be used by Odense University Hospital and the Region of Southern Denmark for research and clinical use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here are some of the projects, which ABACUS2.0 was used in: <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00b7 Drone technology 2018 was also the year when a new website (https:\/\/escience.sdu.dk<\/a> ) was introduced for the eScience Center, which provides information to both the users of ABACUS2.0 and to the public. The eScience website has a dedicated section for the training of HPC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2018, ABACUS2.0 at SDU has been visited more than 20 times by the public, schools and institutes.
