The SDU eScience Center is a single point of reference for research e-infrastructure and support at SDU.

The Center was established in 2013 at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMADA) at the Faculty of Science and since 2015 the eScience center is a national provider for HPC in Denmark.

In 2017, the Center was restructured to become a cross-faculty research-based organization that has ownership of the common research infrastructure for eScience, provides user support across the faculties and develops future e-infrastructures and services.

In February 2020, the Center obtained the ISO 27001 certification, the internationally recognized golden standard for Information Security Management. The SDU eScience Center is the first national HPC provider in Denmark to obtain this prestigious quality stamp.

In October of the same year, the Center expanded its services to researchers. Together with traditional HPC facilities, the new services include a unique and innovative digital research environment, called UCloud, recommended at SDU for research data analysis.

Currently, the SDU eScience Center has a coordinating role in the new consortia for DeiC HPC Type 1, Type3 and Project 5 for national HPC facilities in Denmark to for providing back office and user support.
