From the 1st of January 2022, the Danish universities and DeiC have decided to leave PRACE in order to focus on the EuroHPC initiative instead.

The expectation is that the European access to HPC will be provided by the EuroHPC initiative via regular calls. The first 5 EuroHPC facilities have already started to accept users. You can find more information about the decision to leave PRACE on the DeiC website.

Many SDU researchers have benefited from PRACE

Researchers who have received PRACE grants in the past should be well prepared for the new application procedure for the EuroHPC systems as PRACE will still be handling the EuroHPC applications. Fortunately, many SDU researchers have received PRACE grants in the past.

The first EuroHPC calls

The first EuroHPC call closed on the 3rd of December and more than a total of 600 million core hours were available from 5 different HPC facilities. The next call for proposals will close on the 4th of March 2022. Find more information here.
